Devendra retired as Director Finance, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. During his tenure he championed various pioneer projects designed to bring innovation in agriculture such as the National Agricultural Innovation project which led to the birth of several successful start ups. He is currently on Board of Trustees and Directors with Institute of Economic Growth, Government of India and serving on the Board of Directors for KBK Environ & Infrastructure Ltd. He is also associated with Delhi Technological University as Adjunct Professor in Faculty of Management. He had previously been empaneled with IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development).

He has diverse experience in leading large teams, partnering with governments, federal organizations, and international institutions such as World Bank and Asian Development Bank, as well small-scale industries and bring synergies to develop new products and solutions. His primary skills are financial risk management, and finance models related to agriculture, micro finance, value chain in related products and industries.

Dr. Bandhopadhyay played an instrumental role in bringing innovations in the agricultural research system including enabling a large number of agricultural research/education institutions across India gain online presence for the first time. He was associated and played a key role in the World Bank funded National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) end to end. He has a number of publications in scientific journals and has patents/copyrights and varieties to his credit in the field of agriculture and research. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mittal is a distinguished academic leader and former Vice Chancellor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology and Rajendra Agricultural University. He has held key positions in agricultural education and international relations, including serving as OSD (International Relations) and Head of the BRICS Agricultural Research Platform at ICAR, New Delhi.

With extensive experience in education quality assurance and reforms, Dr. Mittal has pioneered advancements in agricultural education and research, establishing new institutions and programs. He has been an influential figure internationally, participating in delegations and research initiatives across multiple countries.

Recognized for his contributions, Dr. Mittal has received numerous awards, including the National Education Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education and several lifetime achievement awards. He is a fellow of multiple scientific societies and has served in leadership roles in various agricultural organizations, further emphasizing his commitment to enhancing agricultural education and international cooperation.
